COOKEVILLE – Music and lunch will come together three Fridays in October for the annual Brown Bag Lunch Concert series at the Cookeville Depot Museum.

Performers include Emily Daniels on Oct. 4, Ridin’ the Rails on Oct. 11 and Indus Tennessee on Oct. 18. Concerts are 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., and admission is free.

“The Brown Bag Lunch series is an opportunity to enjoy some great music outdoors and kick off the fall season,” Chad McDonald, Cookeville Leisure Services cultural arts superintendent, said.

Lunches from Blue Coast Burrito will be available to purchase on site from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or attendees may bring their own.

Brown Bag Lunch Concerts feature a variety of music styles that appeal to a wide range of attendees, from local business people to retirees to students.

Emily Daniels, a rising country singer-songwriter from Nashville, portrays her “witty, honest lyrics through heartfelt, powerful, pitch-perfect melodies,” according to her website.

Ridin’ the Rails offers a fun look at the American Railroad through song and story. This three-piece, high-energy band consists of Darrell Varley (vocals, guitar, banjo, mandolin and fiddle); Doug Roberts (vocals, guitar and ukulele); and Jim Hardaway (vocals, bass and guitar) performing songs relating to trains in a folk, bluegrass and nostalgic rock style.

Indus Tennessee, based in Cookeville, brings together an eclectic mix of jazz, blues, folk and Americana. Band members include Kat Starr, Clay Faris, David Klein and Michelle Smith.

Brown Bag Lunch Concerts are presented by the City of Cookeville Department of Leisure Services and funded in part by the Cookeville Arts Council.

Limited seats on the east patio are provided. Attendees may also bring lawn chairs.
