COOKEVILLE, TENN – Mark Eugene Poore, 58, of Cookeville was charged with two counts of aggravated assault Tuesday, according to a warrant filed in Putnam County.
According to the warrant, the victims, Jonathan and Michelle Mathis were delivering papers in the area of Lancaster Road when Poore allegedly pulled up and yelled for them to “stay off the *expletive* road.”
Mathis then allegedly produced a knife and told Poore to get back in his car. Upon returning to his vehicle, Poore allegedly told the victims if they called the police he would shoot both of them.
He then allegedly produced a rifle and fired a shot in the air and then pointed the rifle at the victims and threatened to shoot them.
He then fled the scene as the victims called the police, according to the warrant.
Poore is being held in the Putnam County Jail on $10,000 bond.
