COOKEVILLE, Tennessee – Grab your lederhosen or dirndl and kick off the beginning of Fall with the sights, sounds, and aromas of authentic German culture!
Heavenly Host Lutheran Church, in partnership with Thrivent Financial, is proud to present the 11th annual Oktoberfest celebration Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at 777 South Willow Avenue. Meal tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 4 to 10.
Kids under the age of 4 are free. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the church, Heavenly Host school office, or at the door on the day of the event. All proceeds will benefit Heavenly Host Lutheran School.
The afternoon will feature authentic German Bavarian favorites including bratwursts,
homemade potato salad, sauerkraut, and strudel for dessert. Hot dogs are also included and
pretzels will be available for $2. Food will be served from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
While enjoying a traditional German meal, the sounds of German waltzes, polkas, and classic songs will fill the air. Oktoberfest will also provide entertaining activities such as dancing, karaoke, a silent auction, bake sale, and face painting for the kids.
“Since its inception, Oktoberfest has grown each year in popularity,” said Oktoberfest
coordinator, Donnie Baumgart. “Friends and families gather to enjoy an afternoon of German culture, cuisine, and fun right here in Cookeville.”
