COOKEVILLE – An eccentric millionaire invites five people to a haunted house party. If they stay the entire night, they’ll each get $10,000.

Who will make it through the night of terrors?

Find out Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. during “Boo, Y’all!” Halloween Cinema at the Cookeville Depot Museum, where the 1959 classic horror film “House on Haunted Hill,” starring Vincent Price, will be shown on the west patio under the stars. Admission is free.

“Halloween isn’t just one night of fun anymore – it’s a season – and we want everyone to have plenty of opportunities to get in on the spooky action,” Beth Thompson, Cookeville museums manager, said.

Thompson said the shorter days and cooler temperatures of fall lead to a special kind of “fright night” for the more adventurous moviegoers. Parental discretion is advised.

Audience members are encouraged to wear costumes and bring lawn chairs and blankets. Popcorn and drinks will be available for $1 each.

The Cookeville Depot Museum is located at 116 W. Broad St. For more information, call 528-8570.

“The Cookeville museums and Department of Leisure Services love being able to provide free community events for everyone to enjoy a time which, for many, is their favorite season of the year,” Thompson said. “We hope to see a big crowd turned out in their Halloween finery to haunt the Depot.”
