Principal Shannon Pirtle welcomed a large crowd of veterans and Assistant Principal, Brian Cadle, conducted the service as the UHS JROTC Cadets Presented the Colors. The 7th and 8th Band played the “Nation Anthem and Student Council President Emma Upton led “The Pledge of Allegiance . Veterans were honored and Patroitic Poetry was read by Stormi Thompson, Ella Harrell and Cosby King. The student chorus sang “Armed Forces Medley” and “Home (A Tribute to the USA) under the direction of Mrs. Emily Phillips. Special speaker was First Sergeant (RET) Douglas W. Romero.
