Heavenly Host Lutheran School VFW Essay Contest Winner

Heavenly Host Lutheran School’s seventh grade student, Kyla Ligon, was awarded the title of second runner-up by the Cookeville Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 6296 for her entry in the Patriot’s Pen youth essay competition. Miss Ligon wrote to this year’s patriotic theme, “What Makes America Great.”

The contest is sponsored by the VFW and open to 6-8th graders to encourage young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society.
