Mayor Randy Porter Shares Building Permits for December

Permits for December were down as expected, as December is normally the slowest month of the year. We had 13 permits for almost 1.5 million with 7 of those being new homes. That makes 97 new homes permitted since July 1, 2019 (6 months).

Even though we operate off of Fiscal Year July-Jun, I did some calendar year stats.

Since 2015, we continue to see record setting trends for single family residential construction in our County.

2017 saw 41.9 million in construction with 208 of those being new homes.

2018 was very close with 42.35 million, with 192 of those being new homes.

2019 was almost a repeat of 2018 with 42.38 million in construction and 186 of those being new homes

In the past five years, over 900 new single-family homes have been permitted out in the rural part of the County. This does not include the housing starts inside our four cities – if you add those, we total over 1,700 new homes since January 2015.
