Putnam County Master Gardeners Donate Plants to Cookeville Rescue Mission

Putnam County Master Gardeners have been busy since February propagating plants in their greenhouse.  Some of these plants will be used in Master Gardener projects and others were donated.

Pictured is Gloria Vick of Master Gardeners donating hundreds of vegetable plants to the Cookeville Rescue Mission.  Accepting the plants are Ronnie Lindsay, Chris McLearon and Chris Honeycutt of the Cookeville Rescue Mission.

The individuals who stay at the Rescue Mission benefit by learning how to care for themselves and their families by growing and producing healthy, wholesome food.  The Rescue Mission’s purpose is to help individuals find their own God given purpose and the donation of these plants will add a fresh element to the Life Transformation Program and the Emergency Shelter Program.
