Cookeville Police Department Update – Passenger Identified in Head-On Collision that Resulted in Fatality

Update – Passenger Identified in Head-On Collision that Resulted in Fatality 

Cookeville, TN – As reported earlier, on May 1, 2020, at 2:02 PM, officers responded to South Willow Avenue south of Gould Drive in reference to a crash with injuries. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 2007 Nissan Quest van driven by Casey Douglas of Cookeville was traveling southbound on South Willow Avenue while a 1987 Ford dump truck driven by Donald Null of Cookeville was northbound on South Willow Avenue. The vehicles collided head-on coming to a final rest in the middle of the roadway. 

The male passenger has been identified as 36-year old Johnathan Douglas of Baxter. His condition remains unknown at this time. The ages of both drivers were incorrectly reported in the earlier release. Casey Douglas is 36-years old and Donald Null is 64-years old. 

This crash remains under investigation. If anyone witnessed the crash and has not yet spoken with police, please call the Traffic Enforcement Division of the Cookeville Police Department at 931-526-2125.

On May 1, 2020, at 2:02 PM, officers responded to South Willow Avenue south of Gould Drive in reference to a crash with injuries. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 2007 Nissan Quest van driven by 26-year-old Casey Douglas of Cookeville was traveling southbound on South Willow Avenue while a 1987 Ford dump truck driven by 54-year-old Donald Null of Cookeville was northbound on South Willow Avenue. The vehicles collided head-on coming to a final rest in the middle of the roadway. 

Mr. Null received minor injuries in the crash. However, Casey Douglas was pronounced dead at the scene. An unidentified male passenger traveling with Mrs. Douglas was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center. His condition is unknown at the time of this press release.
