Despite the corona virus continuing to be the headlines on a daily bases, Cookeville High School, Warren County HS and White County HS golf teams teed it up at the Golden Eagle Golf Course, this being the first high school athletic contest in Putnam County since the tornado in early March. Then the pandemic closed schools and businesses in the community.
The conditions were hot and humid and the competition was even hotter as Warriors from Sparta shot a sizzling 294 to take the win. Jarrett Lee Glass led the charge by carding a 63. The Cavaliers finished up second at 316 and Warren County shot a 365. Jacob Smith and Joseph Agee led the Cavs with 74’s.
In girls action, the Lady Cavs scored a 155 as Hope Homar fired a 77 to Warren County’s 206. Girls medalist was Lauren Slatton from Warren County with a 70.
