The Cookeville Cavaliers are still in the hunt for a state championship as they currently sit in fourth place after shooting a 309 in day one of the TSSAA State Golf Tournament.
The Cavs are nine strokes off leader Farragut with one day remaining.
Joseph Agee led the way with a two over par 74. Seth Clayton shot a 76, Luke Caldwell 78, Jakob Smith 81 and Samuel Montgomery 86.
In girls action, Lady Cav Lexus Julian shot an 86 to put her in a tie for 31st.
From other Upper Cumberland schools, Jarrett Glass from White County and Hayden Ledbetter from Livingston Academy each shot 77’s, while Lauren Slatten from Warren County shot a 78.
