The Cookeville Cavaliers rolled to a 19-1 victory over Rhea County in game one of a three-game series in the semifinal round of the District 6/AAA baseball tournament.
The Eagles struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but the CHS offense exploded in the bottom half.

The hit kicked off five straight runs for CHS before the first out of the inning. Skylar Allen hit an RBI single to stretch the advantage to 8-1. Two more runs then came across on an error to give the Cavs a 10-1 lead at the end of the first inning.
Logan Sides added a two-RBI double in the second inning to stretch the advantage to 14-1 as the Cavs continued to roll to the 19-1 victory.
Colby Phillips earned the win on the mound for CHS.
The Cavs will travel to Rhea County on Saturday for game two of the series. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. The winner of the series will face the winner of a series between Stone Memorial and Warren County for the district title.
