Mr. Shannon Pirtle Joins Cane Creek Elementary School As Assistant Principal

PUTNAM COUNTY, TENN.- Mr. Shannon Pirtle, Upperman Middle School principal, will be transferring to Cane Creek Elementary School as an assistant principal beginning July 1, 2021.

After ten years of serving both as assistant principal and principal at Upperman Middle School, Mr. Pirtle requested this transfer.

Mr. Pirtle states, “I love this school, the people here, and the community. However, I feel like it’s time for a change. I am excited about the opportunity to take on new challenges and responsibilities.”

Director of Schools Corby King said, “Mr. Pirtle has been an incredible asset to the Upperman Middle School and his leadership will be missed. However, we are excited to still have him in our system.”

Current Cane Creek Elementary School assistant principal, Kelly Montgomery, will also be taking on a new role in the system. Mrs. Montgomery will be transferring to a VITAL teaching position to assist with the growing PCSS Virtual School.

The Upperman Middle School principal position will be posted Wednesday, May 12, and the timeline to fill the vacancy will move fairly quickly.
