COOKEVILLE – Just show up and play.
That’s what local kickball enthusiasts can expect from a new open kickball opportunity being offered by Cookeville Leisure Services on Thursday evenings starting May 13 at Cane Creek SportsPlex, 2200 W. Jackson St.
“Normally, we offer kickball in a league format, but this gives folks an opportunity to play when they want,” Seth Bruton, Leisure Services athletic superintendent, said. “It will be an awesome time to bring your friends out and get some pick-up games going.”
Games are open to ages 16 and up. Players will pay $2 at the gate for unlimited kickball between 5 and 9 p.m.
“This is a chance to relive some of your childhood memories,” Bruton said. “It’s a fun and easy sport to pick up.”
Participants may join a team upon arrival. Concessions are available.
Open kickball will continue on Thursdays through July 1.
