The Livingston Academy Lady Wildcats secured their first win of the girls’ season Tuesday night, defeating Stone Memorial 2-1.

“It was a big win for us, Stone played very well, this was their first game other than the one in Gatlinburg, so it was a good test for them,” said LA head coach David Sadler.

The Wildcats started slow as Stone Memorial scored the first goal with 50 seconds left in the first half.

Junior Lilly Copeland scored Livingston’s first goal of the second half, tying the game.

Freshman Ella Copeland then scored Livingston’s final goal of the night to make the final 2-1.

“In the first half we played down a little bit. We didn’t have the momentum we should have had,” said Sadler. “After half time, we stepped it up a little bit and played a little better and more up to our potential.”

The Lady Wildcats will travel to Baxter at 6 p.m. on Thursday night to face the Upperman Lady Bees in a district matchup.
