Putnam County School System Honors 2020 and 2021 Retirees

Putnam County, TENN. – Chairman Lynn McHenry, members of the school board and Director of Schools, Mr. Corby King honored the 2020 and 2021 Putnam County School retired teachers at the August school board meeting.

“This group of 37 retired teachers represents 870 years of service to Putnam County students and 1,051 years of total service in education.  By the most conservative estimate, as a group they have touched the lives of over 25,000 students,” said Corby King, Director of Schools for Putnam County. “That is commendable. Their retirement is a celebration of their patience and tolerance they showed each day, facing some of the most challenging obstacles throughout their career. The lives they have impacted, the light they gave to students to pursue their dreams and their knowledge and values they imparted will go on for many generations.”

Mr. King added, “Teachers like them are the real assets who help children grow up into outstanding citizens. Thank you for your years of service to Putnam County and in the industry of education. We wish you all a happy retirement.”
