Livingston Academy defeated White County in volleyball action Tuesday night 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-19).

The Lady Wildcats dominated the Warriors in all of the sets played. LA head coach Christy Jenkins said even though this was a non-district game, competition like White County prepares Livingston for opponents further in the season.

“Before the game started we were like ‘this is our house nobody is going to come in and win’”, said Jenkins. “Right now we’re number one in our district, but Upperman is the only team we have gone five sets with as far as district play. I am hoping teams like this that’s going to help us get better to where we can beat teams in three and not drag it out to five”.

Jenkins said senior Allie Qualls and junior Aleah Melton stood out in the Lady Wildcats’ strong performance.

“Allie is our libero and she is dependable all of the time, she gets everything up and continues to get better, and Aleah within the last week and a half she has started to hit the ball a lot harder and she’s become more confident,” said Jenkins. “Both of them have just become a lot more confident in themselves.”

The Warriors will host district opponent Mt. Juliet at 6 p.m. Thursday night.

The Lady Wildcats will travel to Jackson County at 6 p.m. Wednesday night.
