The Leisure Services Department announces the postponement of this year’s Shakespeare in the Park production scheduled for October 1-9. The postponement is deemed necessary due to the increase in occurrence of COVID cases in our local area and the ease of transmission among those vaccinated and unvaccinated alike when in close contact. Chad McDonald, producer of the series, states “Actors and crew must be in close contact throughout the rehearsal process. This makes continuing logistically difficult in the current climate. The director, cast, and crew came together to make this tough, but united decision in the interest of everyone’s health and safety.” The production will resume rehearsals when safe to do so and a new performance schedule will be announced.
