Byrdstown-Pickett Co Update October 8, 2021

Welcome to the Weekend!!

Fall Break is underway for many. The Dixie Cafe, Southern Dreams Bakery and The River Grill will be closed next week for Fall Break. Others will be off on Monday for the holiday – including our office. Tomorrow/Saturday is the 10th Annual Town of Byrdstown 5k/3k Run/Walk. You can register Saturday Oct. 9 beginning at 7:00AM at Town Hall! October 16th there will be a Drum Ensemble at Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park in conjunction with Good Neighbors Theatre.

Reminder: It’s also time to start ad sales for the 2022 Dale Hollow Lake Explorer. If you would like to advertise this year, let us know. 

COMING UP THIS WEEKEND:Live Music:Dixie Cafe – Closed this weekend due to a death in the family, Sulphur Creek Resort on Friday night, The Steel Coop Friday and Saturday, and Saturday night at the Backyard Grill. Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park continues to offer a variety of workshops. Space is limited so you need to register for the one(s) you are planning to attend.WCTE TV has Blues and Brews next weekend. DAV will meet at the Welcome Center on the second Saturday of each month at 9:30AM


The Rescue Squad meets the 1st Thursday of each month at the Rescue Squad Building at 7PM


Town of Byrdstown will meet on Oct. 11 at 5PM at Town Hall
Chamber Board of Directors Meeting is Oct. 14 at East Port Marina’s Obey River Grill at 11AM


Oct. 21 Youth Villages Open House/Lunch and Learn from 11AM-3PM at the Cookeville Location
