The Cookeville Lady Cavs defeated Lebanon Tuesday night by 2-0.

CHS held Lebanon scoreless and scored one goal in each half.

“We’ve been going back-and-forth struggling a little bit to show up as a team,” said CHS head coach Lauren Metts. “This was a great show tonight from them. I felt like they came out strong with their heads in it and played for each other.”

With 35 minutes left in the first half, senior Abby Sanders scored the opening goal. With 33 minutes left of the second half, junior Ava Robbins scored the second goal with an assist from Junior Shayla Huddleston.

The Lady Cavs will have their last regular season game tomorrow at 6 p.m. against Wilson Central in a makeup district game.

“We will definitely use tomorrow to prepare for districts next week,” said Metts. “While that game matters just as much as any other game to talk beforehand and go into the game, just like I told them tonight ‘this is a district game but it’s not a win-or-go-home, next week is’. Take the field, win or go home, make sure we are prepared for it.”
