Jr. Cavs at Tennessee Middle School Cross Country Championships

The Junior Cavalier Cross Country team traveled to Knoxville on 10/23 to compete in the Tennessee Middle School Cross Country State Championships. The boy’s varsity team finished in 18th place with an average time of 13:28 for the two-mile race and Lane Kennedy was the team’s first finished with a personal best at Victor Ashe Park of 12:56.50. This was the fastest team finish for the Junior Cavs boys in almost a decade. Rounding out the varsity boy’s runners were: Jase Clopton (13:26.50), Ben Rohman (13:27.95), Joseph Rohman (13:44.20), Levi Parkison (13:48.95), Deacon Daniels (14:01.50), and Ashton Risher (14:14.96). The junior varsity boys also competed in the JV race and finished in 9th place overall with a team average of 15:08. Levi Detwiler led the JV team with a top 50 finish and a time of 14:18.92.
In the girls’ race, four Junior Cavs runners competed in the State Championships and Sheyene Holt had a team-best time of 15:43.94. She was followed by Rowan Abril (16:05.23), Taylor Shearer (16:26.70), and Emma Cook (16:54.98).
