Livingston Advances To Volleyball Sectional Round, Upperman’s Season Ends

The Livingston Academy Lady Wildcats punched their ticket to the sectional round of the volleyball postseason as they earned a second-place finish in the Region 4/AA tournament at Soddy Daisy High School on Tuesday.

The Upperman Lady Bees’ season ended in a 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-18) loss against Signal Mountain in the semifinal round.

The Lady Wildcats opened the night with a 3-2 win over Soddy Daisy in a thriller. The Lady Trojans earned a 1-0 lead, taking the first set 26-24. The Lady Wildcats pushed the host school to the brink with two straight set wins (25-15, 25-18). The Lady Trojans then battled back to take the fourth set 25-16, tying the match at 2. LA then took the final back-and-forth set 15-13 to advance their season.

The Lady Bees then struggled to create momentum throughout their semifinal match as Signal Mountain rolled to the convincing win.

The Lady Eagles continued their strong play in the championship match with a 3-0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-22) win over LA.

Livingston will travel to East Hamilton for their sectional matchup on Thursday at 7 p.m. eastern. If the Lady Wildcats win, they will advance to the state tournament.
