DeKalb County’s Kadee Ferrell Signs With Bryan College

DeKalb County girls’ basketball star Kadee Ferrell took the next step in her academic and athletic career when she signed her National Letter of Intent to play at Bryan College.

Ferrell made it official at a celebration at DCHS on Tuesday.

“Bryan was just a school that really stood out to me,” said Ferrell. “All the girls and coaches really made me feel welcome there. We had a really good connection, so I felt like it was the place I needed to be.”

The forward has dominated high school basketball with her all-around game, she said she hopes it will translate to the next level.

“I’ve been working on my outside game quite a bit,” said Ferrell. “Hopefully my driving game (will translate) as well.”

Ferrell is the latest in a long line of Upper Cumberland basketball players attending Bryan. She said the familiar faces helped make her comfortable with her commitment.

“There’s a bunch of people you already know,” said Ferrell. “Maybe you didn’t play with them but you played against them. When you’re practicing with them it’s like you’ve been there before.”

While she is looking forward to the future, Ferrell is in the midst of her senior season at DeKalb County. She said she is trying to have fun in her final high school games.

“I really just want to have fun,” said Ferrell. “That’s why I decided to go ahead and sign now. Hopefully I might be able to reach the 2,000 point goal. That’s been one of my goals since I was younger.”
