Leisure Services offers adult volleyball leagues

COOKEVILLE — Now the adults can play too.

Cookeville Leisure Services is adding two new volleyball leagues to its programming at Cane Creek Gymnasium. The offerings — a women’s league and a co-ed league — will start in April, following the hugely popular, at-full-capacity youth volleyball league.

“We are excited to continue expanding our adult programming for the community and at Cane Creek Gymnasium,” Seth Bruton, Leisure Services athletic superintendent, said. “We hope these new volleyball leagues become a foundation for more programming to come.”

Women’s league will play Monday evenings, April 4-May 9, with a tournament May 16. Coed will play Tuesday evenings, April 5-May 10, with a tournament May 17.

“Our leagues are a great way to meet others in the community and have lots of fun,” Lori Medlin, athletic coordinator, said.

Registration is $200 per team and may be completed at www.cookeville-tn.gov/ls/athletics. The deadline is March 18.

“We’re offering something that isn’t available elsewhere in the community right now,” Medlin said. “Participating in volleyball is a great way to get exercise and take part in a competitive sport.”
