Region 4-4A Releases Regular Season Awards

Region 4-4A released their All-Region awards on Thursday, headlined by Co-Region MVPs Hunter Heavilon (Stone Memorial) and Gabe Borders (Macon County).

The Co-Offensive MVPs were DeKalb County’s Colby Barnes and Stone’s Kaleb Flowers, while Upperman’s Terrance Dedmon and Macon County’s Mason Swindell were named Co-Defensive MVPs.

On the defensive side of the awards, DeKalb’s Tyler Estes and Stone’s Brady Lane were named Co-Most Outstanding Linebackers, and Stone’s Jordan Collins and Macon’s Brody Frey were named Co-Most Outstanding Defensive Ends.

Upperman’s Clayton Harris earned the Most Outstanding Defensive Lineman award, while Stone’s Bear Eldridge was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Back.

Offensively, Upperman’s Bo Harrell and DeKalb County’s Ean Jones each earned Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman honors, while Upperman’s Jaxson Rollins and Livingston Academy’s Lochlan Hammock were both given Most Outstanding Running Back awards.

DeKalb’s Malachi Trapp and Upperman’s Jaxson Bush were both named Most Outstanding Wide Receivers, along with DeKalb’s Josh May being named the Most Outstanding Tight End.

For the signal callers, Upperman’s Jonathon Rushing and Macon’s Kyle Shockley each earned Most Outstanding Quarterback honors.

Finally on Special Teams, Bees’ kicker Sebastian Stanfill earned Most Outstanding honors at his position, while DeKalb’s Nolan Gottlied and Cumberland County’s Jamie Perez were named Most Outstanding Punters. DeKalb’s Holden Trapp and Stone’s Nick Osmun were each given Most Outstanding Returner honors.

Stone’s Derik Samber headlined the coaching awards with the Region Coach of the Year award, while Offensive Coordinator Tony Leckie was named the offensive assistant of the year.

Stone’s Justin Qualls, DeKalb’s Michael Shaw and Macon’s Spencer Young were each given Most Outstanding Defensive Assistant Coach awards, while Upperman’s Vince Ferguson and Macon’s Drew Scott were given the same honors for Special Teams.

Stone Memorial

First Team: Austin Muncey, Deacon Disney, Blayton Flowers, Braden Looper, Jack Delk, Cole Dayton.

Second Team: Austin Greenwood, Cody Parker, Kamryn Wood, Preston Mayberry.

Upperman

First Team: Evan Briggs, Diego Lopez, Kam Bush, Branson Turnbow, Ean Cox.

Second Team: Elijah Petty, Eli Bullock, Luke Butler.

Macon County

First Team: Austin Barton, Hayden Wix, Bryson Higgins, Braylon Flowers.

Second Team: Rawley Ritchie, Bradon Warren.

DeKalb County

First Team: Will Farriss, Ty Webb, Ari White.

Second Team: Shadie Rankhorn, Johnny Skinner, Trace Hamilton.

Cumberland County

First Team: Clay Mullen, Cayden Matthews.

Second Team: Jordan Olsen, Marcus Pedde.

Livingston Academy

First Team: Logan Johnson, Carson Parrott.

Second Team: Brodey Coffee.
