by Rusty Ellis

The Smith County Owls saw their season come to an end in the Region 4/A Semifinals on Tuesday, as they fell in a narrow 1-0 contest to KIPP Nashville.

After limiting any chances Smith had offensively early, KIPP scored the lone goal of the match in the 15th minute to take a 1-0 lead.

Defensively, they continued to stifle the Owls chances deep into the second half, though Smith had a couple golden opportunities late to tie the game that miss just high each time.

For the season, the Owls finished 10-2-3 with a District 7/A championship to their name.
