The Gordonsville Tigerettes are headed to the Class A State Championship, as they took down Jo Byrns 5-3 behind another good outing by Kailey Plumlee.
Bailey Stewart got the scoring started in the first inning, as her groundout scored Abby Brinkley to give the Tigerettes a 1-0 lead.
A passed ball scores Kailyn Roberts to push the lead to 2-0 for Plumlee in the circle.
An RBI double in the third cut the lead back down to a run, but Gordonsville quickly responded with two runs on a Plumlee RBI double and a Makenize Herron RBI single to push the lead back up to 4-1.
After Gordonsville added a run in the sixth inning, Jo Byrns put together one more rally in the seventh with a pair of runs to cut the lead down to 5-3.
Plumlee settled in however, and finished off the side with a pair of strikeouts to send the Tigerettes to the Class A State Championship.
Plumlee finished the game with 17 strikeouts, running her three-game total to 53.
The Tigerettes will take on the winner of Jo Byrns-Eagleville on Friday morning at 11 A.M.
