Stone Memorial tennis star Rachel Houston put a bow on her junior season Thursday afternoon as the junior fell to Siegel’s Ellie Zolt in the first round of the TSSAA state tennis tournament, 6-2 and 6-3.
Houston won the District 7/AA singles championship and Region 4/AA title to advance to the Class 2A state tennis tournament as part of TSSAA’s Spring Fling.
As a team, Houston and the Lady Panthers won both the district and region tournaments this season. Houston is the fourth Lady Panther to advance to state and the first since 2015.
