The Macon County Tigerettes kept their season alive for another game with their 3-2 win over White County in a District 7/AAA Tournament elimination game on Sunday afternoon.
After starters Savannah Barr and Ellie Coley each took turns tossing scoreless innings in the first two frames, it was the Warriorettes would would strike first.
On a Ryleigh Burchett groundball, Macon County committed a throwing error that allowed Kylie Norvell to score for the 1-0 lead, and Abigayle Finan delivered an RBI single to centerfield to drive Burchett in to make the score 2-0.
Macon County wasted no time responding however, as an error on a Katie Shockley bunt led to the two runs for the Tigerettes to knot the score up at 2-2.
Barr and Coley settled back into their pitching duel, and both pitchers tossed up zeros until the bottom of the fifth inning.
There, a Ryleigh Coley groundball was misplayed and led to the go-ahead run scoring with two outs in the inning.
From there, Coley cruised in the circle and delivered two more shutout innings to clinch a spot in the region tournament for the Tigerettes, as they took down White County 3-2.
Coley finished with the complete-game win, as she struck out six hitters and walked just one. Both runs she allowed were also unearned.
Macon went on to fall to Upperman 5-2 in the championship game, meaning they will have to go on the road to Lincoln County on Monday.
