Strong Third Set Leads Stone Memorial to 2-1 Victory over Clarkrange

The Stone Memorial Lady Panthers started their week in the win column Monday afternoon as they defeated Clarkrange in a best-of-three match.

The Lady Panthers cruised to a 25-12 victory in the first set before Clarkrange surged back to win the second set, 26-24. Stone Memorial then took the winner-take-all third set by a 15-3 margin.

Lucy Grothe and Amy Gunderson led Stone Memorial with 11 kills each while Sophia Johns, Emma Slone and Mikenzie Borngrebe contributed 9 digs each.

Hailee McDonald led the Lady Panthers with 4 aces.

Stone Memorial travels to Fulton on Tuesday for a non-district matchup before hosting Upperman in the UCR Volleyball Game of the Week on Thursday.

Clarkrange is scheduled to host Red Boiling Springs tonight at 5:30 p.m.
