White County Volleyball Sweeps Warren County, 3-0

The White County Warriorettes had a dominant performance Thursday evening as they swept Warren County in District 7-3A volleyball action, 3-0.

White County won their sets 25-12, 25-17 and 25-15.

“It was a great game to come off of after playing Lavergne the other night, and we kind of played sloppy,” said White County head coach Logan Hicks. “I have been trying to get them to keep their focus and they did a good job of that tonight playing together with my setters and my senior middle who hit tremendously tonight.”

Composure and staying focused were key contributors in the matchup against the Warren County.

“We try to keep our composure and play the game that we know how to,” said Hicks. “They would back off from it, they would then make a comeback, and we would make some mistakes and keep our composure and adjust to their serves and how their girls hit. Keeping their composure was the best way to keep them in line.”

The district match is also a rivalry game between two counties that share a border.

“We always try to see who the real ‘WC’ is and they fight and never quit,” said Hicks. “I do enjoy playing them and trying to figure out who is the real ‘WC’.

White County will travel to Stone Memorial on Monday night in a non-district matchup. Warren County will compete in the Coffee County Southern Slam at Coffee County High School on Saturday.

“I want them to keep the confidence that they had,” said Hicks. “My middle, Pyper Price, she is my senior and I have never seen her make contact like she did tonight. I am very proud of her and I hope she keeps that confidence rolling into Stone Memorial on Monday.”
