The Cumberland County Lady Jets returned to the court this week in Florida as they fell in their first two games in the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational.
Lady Jet freshman guard Sydney Wilhite has a combined 58 points through the first two games as she scored 20 in their tournament opener vs. Mainland in a 53-42 loss and followed with a 38-point performance against Timber Creek in game 2. Wilhite hit 9 three-pointers in the contest against Timber Creek, where the Lady Jets lost in double overtime, 71-70.
Freshman guard Lauren Clark recorded her first career double-double against Timber Creek with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Jets have one more game scheduled in Florida before returning to Tennessee to face Livingston Academy in District 7-3A play on Friday, Jan. 5.
