The first Miss Basketball winner in White County basketball history was honored Tuesday evening as senior forward Celeste Reed won the honor during a ceremony at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro.

“I’m honored and so excited,” said Reed. “I’m so grateful to even come here. To be chosen as Miss Basketball, I can’t even express it. I’m so thankful for all my coaches, teammates, my parents and my family. This is such a big honor.”

Reed won Miss Basketball over finalists Carlee Lowry of Signal Mountain and Addison Melton of Murfreesboro Central.

Also honored as runners-up Tuesday were York Institute junior Reese Beaty in Class 2A and Stone Memorial junior Cade Capps in Class 3A.
