The Cumberland County Jets wrapped up their 2024 soccer season Monday night as they fell to Franklin County, 4-3.
Monday’s contest was delayed over an hour and changed venues following a stadium lighting issue at Cumberland County, forcing the contest to move to Stone Memorial.
The Jets struck first as Nikki Azzani scored two first-half goals in a 7-minute span to give Cumberland County a 2-0 halftime lead.
Franklin County battled back in the second half as the Rebels scored two goal in a 4-minute span to tie the game at 2 goals each with 23:36 remaining.
The Rebels tacked on two more at the 16:49 and 10:52 marks to lead 4-2. Cumberland County’s Gabriel Alva pulled his team within a goal with 2:18 remaining as he scored via a free kick to make the final score 4-3.
Cumberland County wraps up the 2024 season at 14-5-2 overall and the champion of District 7-2A.
