Cumberland County’s Gabriel Alva Signs With Bryan College Soccer

By Michael Lindsay

Former Cumberland County High School soccer player Gabriel Alva made his college plans official Wednesday morning as he signed with Bryan College.

“It feels good,” said Alva. “It’s been my dream to play college ball and it’s really exciting. Bryan has a great campus and the coaches are great. It really fits me.”

Alva is a 2024 graduate of Cumberland County and plans to study Exercise & Health Science at Bryan.

“I’m going to focus on pre-therapy,” said Alva. “I want to be an athletic trainer.”

Alva was a four-year starter for the Jets and won three district championships and two region titles during his career.

“I’ve got to get quicker and stronger,” said Alva. “Cumberland County means everything to me. It was the best team I could’ve had to put me in a successful situation.”
