Week 10 2024 Picks

Noah 75-10 (5-0)

Justin 72-13 (4-1)

Goose 71-14 (5-0)

Jacob 71-14 (5-0)

GOTW: Upperman at Stone Memorial

Noah: Upperman 35-13

This is the Bees first time back at Stone since that legendary 2022 Panthers win, so expect a very motivated squad rolling into Crossville. Stone will need to protect the football while forcing turnovers and finding a few explosive plays. Ultimately, this Upperman squad has been a juggernaut all season and I don’t see that changing.

Justin: Upperman 41-14

Upperman returns to region play after nearly a month away with a massive game at Stone Memorial. This Bees squad hasn’t forgotten who their only region loss in Adam Caine’s coaching career came to, and they should be a fired up group in Crossville.

Jacob: Upperman 35-14

Stone Memorial has played some really good football recently and coming off the bye I expect them to be rested and ready to go for the postseason. The Bees have just had a different approach this season and only Macon County has been able to knock them off the track from just a few quarters. I think Upperman gets the job done on the road and secures the one seed.

Goose: Upperman 35-21

Upperman is firing on all cylinders this time of year as they head to Stone Memorial with a Region 4-4A #1 seed on the line. Coach Samber and the boys should have some tricks up their sleeve for tonight, but ultimately Upperman is a machine this season and it’ll take a lot to take down the Bees.

White County at DeKalb County

Noah: DeKalb County 28-20

The health of the Warriors looms large in this game. DeKalb County is better than the last 5.5 quarters of football would indicate, and they should be on their A-game with their playoff lives on the line.

Justin: White County 28-21

Tripp Pinion’s availability is huge for this game, and I think he gives it a go and leads White County to a massive victory. The Warriors will need some other ball carriers to step up and lighten the load, though.

Jacob: DeKalb County 29-28

This score is very dependent on Tripp Pinion playing for White County. It appears he may be trending to not play, and for the Warriors he doesn’t have to. White County needs a win tonight or next week to secure the two seed, so another week of rest for Tripp wouldn’t hurt. For DeKalb County they need this win in the worst way. I think Jordan Parker makes it tough on the White County defense and gets a big win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Goose: White County 35-21

The Warriors return to Region 4-4A play this week with a home playoff game potentially on the line at DeKalb County, who is fighting for their postseason lives. A non-region game and a week of rest were huge for White County, and I think the Warriors have just enough in the tank to take down the Tigers.

Cookeville at Green Hill

Noah: Green Hill 28-24

Biggest test since Mt. Juliet for Cookeville. They have to find a way to limit Green Hill’s explosive offense while moving the ball on a stifling defense. The good news for the Cavs is Green Hill’s schedule has been very weak and the Cavs present their stiffest test yet. Ultimately I need to see the Cavs slow down an offense like Green Hill’s. If they do, the complexion and ceiling of the season changes.

Justin: Green Hill 24-14

The Cavaliers have a big-time game at Green Hill tonight with massive implications, and the Hawks have a tough offense to stop for Cookeville. The Cavaliers will need to bring their A-game to Green Hill if they want to take home a win.

Jacob: Cookeville 27-24

This is the most important game of the season for the Cavaliers. They need to get off to a good start in this game and cannot find themselves down a score or two early on. Green Hill’s schedule has been very very easy to this point. Cookeville can use that to their advantage, but make no mistake this team is legit. Cookeville needs a clean game, but I think they get it done on the road in a close one.

Goose: Green Hill 28-20

Cookeville has a massive road game tonight with home playoff implications on the line at Green Hill. The homestanding Hawks are undefeated (8-0) and present a challenge for Cookeville with their high-flying offense. This game should be a classic and come down to one possession.

Cumberland County at Livingston Academy

Noah: Cumberland County 21-13

Livingston has been ravaged by injuries. Meanwhile the Jets nearly knocked off DeKalb County their last time out. I think CC gets a nice win with the potential to win two in a row heading into the offseason.

Justin: Cumberland County 10-7

Two teams looking for their first Region 4-4A win of the season meet Friday, and the Jets’ special teams could be the difference against Livingston.

Jacob: Cumberland County 21-7

Cumberland County almost picked up their biggest win in region play in some time a couple of weeks ago vs. DeKalb County. They are coming off the bye and now have that taste of a win they are after in region play. The Wildcats have been depleted by injuries this season. I think CC gets the Wildcats back this year and pick up their first region win since 2022.

Goose: Cumberland County 26-12

Cumberland County is playing better football this time of season while Livingston has been hammered by injuries. Give me the Jets on the road in Hogeye country.

Wartburg at York Institute

Noah: York 42-6

The Dragons are the better team and I expect them to cruise in this one.

Justin: York 34-0

York has the upper hand in this one and should keep their winning streak alive on the Mountain.

Jacob: York 35-0

Dragons are on a tear since their bye in week two and that continues this week with their seventh win in a row.

Goose: York 41-0

York returns to region play this week and should handle the Bulldogs to improve to 7-2 overall.

Watertown at Macon County

Noah: Macon County 42-0

Justin: Macon County 49-0

Jacob: Macon County 41-6

Goose: Macon County 34-6

Gordonsville at Bledsoe County

Noah: Bledsoe County 35-28

Justin: Gordonsville 27-20

Jacob: Gordonsville 28-20

Goose: Bledsoe County 28-21

Trousdale County at Clay County

Noah: Clay County 49-0

Justin: Clay County 35-0
