The girls high school basketball region tournament tipped off Friday evening with the quarterfinal round as 10 area programs picked up victories to advance to the semifinal round. Results by classification and Monday’s semifinal opponent are listed below:

 

Class 1A

#1 Pickett County defeated  #4 Knowledge Academies, 115-14

#2 Clay County defeated #3 Jo Byrns, 70-20

#3 Clarkrange won at #2 Merrol Hyde, 63-44

Pickett County will face Clarkrange on Monday at Livingston Academy while Clay County will face East Robertson.

 

Class 2A

#1 York Institute defeated #4 Trousdale County, 68-31

#2 Smith County defeated #3 White House Heritage, 68-33

#4 Jackson County won at #1 Liberty Creek, 49-41

York Institute will face Westmoreland while Smith County will face Jackson County on Monday at Monterey.

Class 3A

#1 White County defeated #4 Lawrence County, 70-51

#2 Upperman defeated #3 Central Magnet, 38-23

#4 Livingston Academy won at #1 Tullahoma, 50-35

#1 Macon County defeated #4 Lawson, 59-30

White County will face Franklin County while Upperman will face Livingston on Monday at Cookeville High School.

 

Class 4A

#2 Cookeville defeated #3 Oakland, 66-42.

Cookeville will play Blackman on Monday at Lebanon.
