Two baseball teams remain in District 7-3A following three games on Sunday as the #1-seeded Upperman Bees and the #2 Stone Memorial Panthers will face off in a three-game series for the district championship beginning Monday.
Upperman opened Sunday’s action with a 10-0 lead over Stone Memorial, who later won an elimination game over White County in walk-off fashion to secure the first district championship berth in program history.

Winners’ bracket play kicked off Sunday afternoon with the Upperman Bees earning a 10-0 run-rule victory over Stone Memorial. Senior pitcher Alec Wilson went the distance as he struck out two batters in the shutout.
The Bees took control early with three runs in the bottom of the first inning via a Rookie Allison double and a steal of home by Cody Lowe.
Upperman tacked on a run in the bottoms of the third and fourth inning before exploding for five runs in the bottom of the fifth to win via a walk-off single by Braden Green, securing a 10-0 victory.
Upperman faces Stone Memorial in the District 7-3A championship at 5 p.m. on UCR.
White County 4 Cumberland County 1
White County won the first elimination game of the afternoon as they defeated Cumberland County, 4-1.
Right fielder Eli Smith led the Warriors with two RBIs.
White County scored a run in the top of the second and two in the third to take a 3-0 lead over the Jets.
Cumberland County got on the board in the bottom of the fourth via a Jayden Hensley single to score Conner Hankins.
The Warriors tacked on an insurance run in the top of the fifth as a Smith sacrifice fly scored Walker, extending Sparta’s lead back to 4-1.
White County’s Wxxxx Thomas shut the door on Cumberland County from there as he shut the Jets out over the final three innings to preserve the 4-1 complete-game victory. Thomas struck out four while allowing 7 hits in 7 innings.
The win advanced White County to Sunday’s final elimination game against Stone Memorial, who defeated the Warriors on a walk-off single, 4-3.

Stone Memorial baseball clinched the first district championship and region tournament berth in program history Sunday night as they defeated White County on a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning, 4-3.
White County jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the Panthers via two runs in the top of the first inning and a Kason Seal double in the third. Stone Memorial got on the board in the bottom of the third via a Gage Eldridge sacrifice fly, making the score 3-1 after three.
Stone Memorial caught Sparta with two runs in the bottom of the fifth via Talyn Hurd stealing home and a bases-loaded walk to knot the game at 3 runs each.
White County threatened with runners on first and third with no outs in the top of the seventh, but Stone Memorial’s Titus Bisbee shut the door with three straight outs to preserve the tie.
The Panthers answered with two runners on in the bottom of the seventh inning with two outs and Drake Scarbrough at the plate, who delivered a line-drive single to center to walk-off the victory.
Stone Memorial faces Upperman on Monday at 5 p.m. in the championship game. A Bees win will secure the district championship victory while a Stone win will force a winner-take-all game on Tuesday.
