Multiple delays for inclement weather impacted Tuesday’s Class A and AA state track and field meet in Murfreesboro, but multiple Upper Cumberland athletes battled the elements to finish on the medal stand.
Headlining the action was York Institute senior Reese Beaty, who won her fourth consecutive Class A shot put state championship with a throw of 38-11.5 and her third straight discus championship at 137-8.
The Upper Cumberland featured three silver finishes on Tuesday as Gordonsville’s Jemario Williams finishes second in Class A long jump at 21-10.75 along with Upperman’s Meiah Moss placing second in Class AA girls at 18-0.
