UCR WEEK 1 STANDOUTS: Multiple Big-Time Performances Across The Upper Cumberland Lead to Victories

Week 1 of the high school football regular season is officially in the books, and with it comes a selection of top performers from across the Upper Cumberland:

Bronzden Chaffin (Upperman QB)

Chaffin recorded 186 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground while going 7-12 for 99 yards through the air in one half against Webb (Knoxville). The Bees won the weather-shortened game 29-7.

Noah Potter (Stone Memorial QB)

Potter went 12-16 for 171 yards and 4 touchdowns through the air along with 69 rushing yards in a 28-6 victory over York Institute.

Braiden Dodson (Jackson County RB)

Dodson rushed for 167 yards and 3 touchdowns along with 52 receiving yards in Jackson County’s 42-32 win at Clinton County (KY).

Dylan Raines (Smith County RB)

Raines rushed for 171 rushing yards and a touchdown in a 28-23 victory at Watertown.

Ryan Lyons (DeKalb County WR/DB)

Lyons had 5 catches for 98 yards, a rushing touchdown and a game-sealing interception in DeKalb County’s 19-16 win at Warren County.

Kaden Weitzel (Livingston Academy RB/DB)

Weitzel scored 4 touchdowns, intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble while racking up over 178 rushing yards and 70 receiving yards in a 47-9 victory at Cumberland County.
