Macon County at White County (Mayberry’s Furniture GOTW)
Noah: Macon County 21-14
I love a physical football game, and this should be exactly that. I think both teams are facing their biggest test of the season so far. The Tigers have passed every test so far, and while I like a lot of what is happening in Sparta the defending champs have earned the benefit of the doubt to get another big win.
Justin: Macon County 24-21
Jacob: Macon County 28-21
White County was really impressive last week in their comeback victory against the resurgent Wildcats. However, the reigning Class 4A State Champs are 5-0 and have rolled in all five of their games. These two teams are very similar in style and I think I’ll side with the experience and size of the Tigers in a close one.
Goose: Macon County 31-14
Macon County/White County has been an incredible matchup for years and this season’s edition should be no different. Two of the best fronts in the Upper Cumberland will clash tonight in Sparta, but I think Macon County has a little more on the perimeter and in special teams to get it done.
Halle: Macon County 28-14
Upperman at DeKalb County (UCR2)
Noah: Upperman 49-7
The Bees have obliterated every team they have a decided advantage over so far, and that could be the case here. The Tigers will need their A-game to keep it close with a ticked off Upperman team.
Justin: Upperman 45-10
Jacob: Upperman 42-6
The Bees run defense got exposed last week, but will have a chance to bounce back against a struggling DeKalb County team. DeKalb really struggled with the size up front of Macon County last week and Upperman should be able to mimic some of that success with their offensive front and Bronzden Chaffin running behind.
Goose: Upperman 34-7
Upperman hits the road this week against a familiar foe in DeKalb County. The Bees are in a different place than the Tigers at this point in the season and should handle business.
Halle: Upperman 42-13
Pickett County at Livingston Academy (UCR3)
Noah: Livingston 49-0
The Wildcats are simply the better team. They roll.
Justin: LA 42- 0
Jacob: Livingston Academy 56-0
Wildcats are legit and here to stay. They bounce back in a big way against the Bobcats and cruise into another big time region match up with the Bees next week.
Goose: Livingston 49-8
Homecoming at Hogeye should go smooth, give me the Wildcats.
Halle: Livingston 34-6
Green Hill at Cookeville (UCR4)
Noah: Green Hill 35-20
I think the Cavs will keep this closer than many assume, but the Hawks are legit and multiple. Ultimately I think the road team creates a few explosive plays to get the win.
Justin: Green Hill 35-14
Jacob: Green Hill 35-21
The Cavaliers found their identity last week and looked really solid against Wilson Central. That said, Green Hill is the best on their schedule to this point in the season. The Hawks offense is prolific and can score in bunches. That Cav secondary will be tested again. I think Green Hill gets the job done on the road, but I feel much more confident about the Cavaliers going forward.
Goose: Green Hill 35-17
Green Hill is a tough matchup for almost everybody we cover and Cookeville has their work cut out for them. The Cavaliers have shown improvement the last two weeks, but Green Hill is a complete team and will be hard to handle.
Halle: Green Hill 35-13
Gordonsville at Jackson County
Noah: Gordonsville 35-14
Justin: Gordonsville 28-14
Jacob: Gordonsville 28-7
Goose: Gordonsville 42-21
