There was a shakeup atop the UC Top 5 this week with Macon County ascending to the #1 spot. The UC Top 5 is revealed every Tuesday evening on the UCR Football Show Presented by Fire & Vine.
1. Macon County (5-0)
The defending Class 4A state champion Macon County Tigers defeated DeKalb County 42-0 on Friday to improve to 5-0 overall. Macon County travels to UC #4-ranked White County this week for Region 4-4A play.
2. Upperman (3-2)
Upperman suffered their second loss of the season last Friday as they were defeated at home by Class 5A #5-ranked Beech, 42-27. Upperman returns to Region 4-4A play this week against DeKalb County.
3. Gordonsville (5-0)
Gordonsville won at Region 4-2A foe Cannon County last Friday, 42-27 and travels to region opponent Jackson County this week.
4. White County (4-1)
White County won a thriller at Livingston Academy last Friday, 14-13, and hosts defending Class 4A state champion Macon County this week.
5. Livingston Academy (4-1)
Livingston fell in a top-5 matchup to White County last week, 14-13. The Wildcats stay at home this week as they host Pickett County for homecoming.
