The Clay County Bulldogs (11-1) are back in the Class 1A quarterfinals for the second consecutive season following a 52-21 win over Midway in the second round of the playoffs Friday night.
The Bulldogs posted
A 44-point outburst in the second quarter fueled Clay County in their 52-21 win over Midway. The Bulldogs trailed 14-0 before ripping off six touchdowns in the second quarter.
Clay County racked up 669 yards of total offense led by 285 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs from quarterback Nolan Adams. Adams also went 10-13 for 171 yards and a touchdown through the air. Nolan also had two interceptions on defense. Running back Reece Adams rushed for 201 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win.
Up next for the Bulldogs is a trip south to South Pittsburg (11-1) for the quarterfinal round on Friday, Nov. 21.
