The Gordonsville Tigers (12-0) have advanced to the quarterfinal round of the playoffs in their first season in Class 2A following their 21-6 victory over Oneida in Friday’s second round.
Gordonsville’s win wraps up an undefeated 2025 season at Turney Ford Field and advances to the quarterfinals for the 5th time in 6 seasons.
The Tigers rushed for 283 rushing yards in the win led by Turner Bucher with 152 yards and a touchdown. Lee Scurlock tacked on 78 rushing yards and a score in the win.
Gordonsville got on the board in the first quarter as J Foster hit Camrix Stott on a 23-yard touchdown pass to take a 7-0 lead. Oneida answered late in the second quarter with a touchdown pass, but the Tigers blocked the extra point to preserve a 7-6 halftime lead.
After a scoreless third quarter, Gordonsville extended their lead early in the fourth quarter on a 4-yard Bucher touchdown run to take a 14-6 advantage.
Scurlock put the game on ice late in the game as he punched in a 10-yard touchdown run to make the final score 21-6 in favor of the Tigers.
Up next for Gordonsville is the Class 2A quarterfinal round as they travel to defending Class 2A state champion Marion County (11-1) on Friday, Nov. 21. More livestream and game information will be shared as available.
