UCR’s weekly UC Top 5 basketball rankings were revealed on the UCR Basketball Show Presented by Fire & Vine Wednesday evening with movement across the boys and girls lists.

Girls

1. White County (8-0)

White County picked up three wins since the last UC Top 5 over York Institute, Smith County and DeKalb County to stay undefeated. The Warriorettes play Hillsboro on Saturday.

2. Stone Memorial (8-0)

Stone Memorial stayed undefeated with a pair of wins over Clarkrange and Pickett County, with their victory over the Lady Bobcats coming in overtime on Tuesday. Stone Memorial hosts York Institute on Thursday and this the road to Jackson County on Friday.

3. Cookeville (7-1)

The Lady Cavaliers lost their first game of the season on Tuesday as they fell in overtime at Lipscomb Academy, 65-59. Cookeville also earned a 61-51 victory over Catholic last week, and the Lady Cavs are back in action on Friday when they host LaVergne before facing McMinn Central on Saturday.

4. York Institute (5-1)

The Dragonettes dropped their first game of the season last Thursday at White County before earning a pair of wins over Coffee County (35-25) and Cumberland County (49-33) to close the week. York hits the road to Stone Memorial on Thursday for a UC Top 5 showdown.

5. Upperman (5-3)

The Lady Bees fell at The King’s Academy on Monday, 62-56. Upperman faces Blackman on Friday.

Boys

1. Upperman (7-2)

Upperman opened the week with a 62-42 victory at Lawson and faces Memphis Business on Saturday.

2. Jackson County (8-1)

Jackson County opened the week with a 68-31 victory over Livingston Academy and hosts Stone Memorial on Friday.

3. Pickett County (7-1)

Pickett County won their 5th consecutive game Tuesday as they defeated Stone Memorial 44-37. The Bobcats face Eagleville on Friday.

4. Cookeville (4-2)

Cookeville fell to Lipscomb Academy on Tuesday and hosts LaVergne on Friday.

5. Stone Memorial (3-3)

Stone Memorial fell to Pickett County 44-37 on Tuesday and hits the road to Jackson County on Friday.
