Livingston Academy split a pair of non-district contests with Watertown Thursday evening as the Lady Wildcats (9-9) opened the evening with a 47-32 victory followed by the Watertown boys winning in overtime, 47-43.
Senior Emma Poston led all scorers in the girls game with 14 points along with 10 from Cora Copeland.
Livingston held a 13-10 lead after one quarter before extending their advantage late in the second period as a Poston free throw and three-pointer gave the Lady Wildcats a 26-17 lead at halftime.
A Poston layup and pair of technical free throws to open the second half pushed Livingston’s lead to double digits at 30-17 with 7:00 remaining in the third period. The Lady Wildcats led by as many as 14 points (34-20) before taking a 38-27 lead into the fourth quarter.
Livingston closed strong in the fourth quarter as they went on to win by a 47-32 final score.
In boys action, the Wildcats fell in overtime to Watertown by a 47-43 margin. Carter Harris led the Wildcats with 12 points along with 11 from Baylor Barnes and 9 points each by Sam Burch and Haydn Ray.
Up next for Livingston is their District 7-1A opener on the road Friday night as they travel to Stone Memorial. Girls action is set to tip off at 6 p.m. with boys immediately following.
