Four Upper Cumberland baseball teams are a three-game series away from the state tournament as TSSAA sectional action Tennessee kicks off on Wednesday.
Gordonsville, Smith County, Macon County and Cookeville advanced through their respective district and region tournaments over the last two weeks to make it to the sectional round as one of the last 16 teams remaining in their respective classes.
Each program’s sectional series schedules is as follows and all game threes are if-necessary:
Class 1A: South Pittsburg at Gordonsville
Game 1: Wednesday, May 13 @ 4:30 p.m.
Game 2: Wednesday, May 13 @ 6:30 p.m. (double header)
Game 3: Thursday, May 14 @ 6 p.m.
Class 2A: Westmoreland at Smith County
Game 1: Wednesday, May 13 @ 4 p.m.
Game 2: Wednesday, May 14 @ 4 p.m.
Game 3: Thursday, May 15 @ 4 p.m.
Class 3A: Alcoa at Macon County
Game 1: Thursday, May 14 @ 6 p.m.
Game 2: Saturday, May 14 @ Noon
Game 3: Saturday, May 14 @ 3 p.m. (double header if necessary)
Class 4A: Cookeville at Beech
Game 1: Thursday, May 14 @ 6 p.m.
Game 2: Friday, May 15 @ 4 p.m.
Game 3: Friday, May 15 @ 7 p.m. (double header if necessary)
