COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Tech Athletics and Upper Cumberland Reporter (UCR) are proud to announce a partnership for TTU radio and digital streaming broadcasts ahead of the 2026-27 athletic year.
UCR will provide on-air talent for both radio broadcasts of TTU football along with men’s and women’s basketball as well as the university’s ESPN+ broadcasts of the same sports, along with women’s soccer, baseball and softball games streamed on the network.
“We are excited to expand our partnership with UCR,” said Tech athletic director Casey Fox. “The team at UCR has allowed our department to expand its reach as we strive for championships. Our fans are going to continue to enjoy the radio and now streaming broadcasts with the UCR team calling Golden Eagle Athletics.”
UCR’s lead commentary team of TTU alums Noah McKay (play-by-play) and Justin Matheney (color analyst) will return and anchor the coverage as the radio broadcast crew for every Golden Eagle Football game, which will now be broadcast to a vast audience on Cookeville Communication’s Classic Rock 98.5. Home radio broadcasts will also feature another TTU alum, Michael Dodgen, on the sideline. Home broadcasts on ESPN+ will feature play-by-play by Jacob Vinson with Sam Brooks returning to provide color analysis.
“As a born and raised Cookeville native, TTU alum and former TTU assistant football coach, I could not be happier with the University’s partnership with UCR and leadership under Athletic Director Casey Fox,” said Matheney. “UCR has an unmatched ability to make games feel important and bring a spotlight to these student athletes.”
UCR’s on-air talent will also bring Golden Eagle men’s and women’s basketball to fans around the country. McKay, Vinson, Rafferty Cleary, Craig Cantrell and others can be heard throughout the season as TTU enters the Southern Conference.
“Golden Eagle Athletics are moving in an exciting new direction, and we are thrilled to be a part of the rise,” said McKay. “We know our team’s passion for Tennessee Tech athletics will shine through on every broadcast and we are honored to be the Golden Eagle Sports Network.”
In addition to on-air duties, UCR will operate the Golden Eagle Sports Network’s new social accounts with live gameday clips and updates, along with a new “Inside the Nest” broadcast on YouTube during Golden Eagle Football games, bringing fans directly into the broadcast booth.
“Justin and Noah are professionals and it just made sense to expand our collaboration to the streaming platform once the opportunity opened,” said Fox.
