Discover ‘boogers, haunts and haints’ during Folklore History Hike Oct. 12

COOKEVILLE, TN – Spooky characters and places from Putnam County’s past are the focus of this Saturday’s “Boogers, Haunts and Haints” Folklore History Hike.
Entry forms with trivia questions may be picked up at the Cookeville Depot Museum or Cookeville History Museum between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Completed forms will be entered in a prize drawing sponsored by Sweet Boba Café in Cookeville.
“This is a free, self-guided activity,” Ashley McKee, museums education specialist, said. “You begin at either museum, walk along Broad Street and read about our local legends. People would use these exaggerations of actual events to explain those spooks that go bump in the night.”
History Hikes, presented by the Historical Arts Division of the City of Cookeville Department of Leisure Services, are held the second Saturday of each month, April through October. “Boogers, Haunts and Haints” will be this year’s final hike.
