Noah: 73-18

Justin: 73-18

Jacob: 73-18

Goose: 72-19

Guests: 70-21

This week’s guest picker is none other than JoeJoe Matheney, the father of UCR’s very own Justin Matheney.

Red Boiling Springs (0-8) at Gordonsville (8-0) (Thursday)

Noah: Gordonsville 49-0

Jacob: Gordonsville 56-0

Justin: Gordonsville 42-6

Goose: Gordonsville 49-8

Guest: Gordonsville 49-0

White County (7-1) at Upperman (6-2) (Mayberry’s GOTW)

Noah: Upperman 28-14

A big time GOTW with tons of postseason implications. The White County defense has been outstanding this year, but this Upperman offense has been dominant, which one of those units will hold up the best?

Conversely, can Sparta’s run game give the Bees trouble? If they can, White County certainly can win. Ultimately I’ll pick the home team looking to wrap up the region title.

Jacob: Upperman 28-14

This game should be all kinds of fun. White County is built best to slow down this Upperman offense, but I think the Bees are just too strong on that side of the ball. It should be a good game, but I expect the Bees to pull away late and win by a couple of scores.

Justin: Upperman 27-21

Another big game in Baxter, and another game I think coach Caine’s boys will be ready for. Give me the current #1 to take care of business in an electric matchup.

Goose: Upperman 42-21

We’ve got a top-10 Class 4A matchup in Baxter this week as White County travels north to Upperman with the potential #1 seed in Region 4-4A on the line. The line of scrimmage should be an absolute war this week between two elite units on both sides of the ball for both teams. The difference to me comes on the perimeter with Upperman’s stable of weapons and ability to stretch the field with 3-start Georgia State commit QB Bronzden Chaffin. I think Upperman’s ability to match White County up front and big-play ability lead the Bees to another Region 4-4A win under coach Adam Caine.

JoeJoe: Upperman 42-35

This is a huge game for both teams in this growing rivalry. If Upperman can control both lines of scrimmage will be key! In addition, Upperman will have Homefield advantage.

Macon County (6-2) at Livingston Academy (5-3) (UCR2)

Noah: Macon County 35-14

The Tigers found something last week, while it’s gut check time for the Wildcats. Ultimately I think the Tigers are in a better rhythm right now and I think they wrap up the final Region 4/4A playoff spot.

Jacob: Macon County 35-14

The Tigers looked great last week against a big Barren County squad on the road. They needed a game to get their identity back where they were dominant in the trenches and they did just that. LA has struggled against two good offenses in Upperman and Stone, but we’ll see if the bye week paid off for them. I like the Tigers on the road in this one.

Justin: Macon County 31-7

The defending state champions are built for this moment and are a tough out, give me Macon County on the road.

Goose: Macon County 38-20

This is almost a playoff game in itself between two programs fighting for the #4 seed in Region 4-4A. Livingston has made a ton of strides this season and will definitely be a challenge, but Macon County’s finding their footing again offensively against a tougher back half of the schedule, and the defending 4A state champs won’t be an easy out with their playoff hopes on the line.

JoeJoe: Macon County 42-28

Macon County’s playoff experience will carry them in this one.

Cookeville (2-6) at Mt. Juliet (2-6) (UCR3)

Noah: Cookeville 21-7

I was most impressed with the Cavalier defense in their win last week, and I think they have another opportunity for a strong performance here. Look for them to feed Blake Barrett again in a pivotal region matchup.

Jacob: Cookeville 28-21

This may end up being the best game on the board. Cookeville got a great four quarter effort and win last week against a struggling Farragut squad. Mt. Juliet is starting to find their stride on offense with their quarterback back in there. The Golden Bears will leave some avenues open for the Cookeville offense to score and I think they take advantage in a big region game.

Justin: Cookeville 20-14

This game is *massive* for the Cavaliers on the road, and I think they’ve found their footing on both sides of the ball. I’ll take the Cavs.

Goose: Cookeville 21-14

This game is about as dead even as you can get with massive playoff implications in Region 4-6A. Typically the home team gets the benefit in a game like this, but I liked what I saw from Cookeville last week. A huge credit to Cookeville’s coaching staff and players for weathering the storm of a really difficult schedule this year and putting on their best performance last week, and I think it continues this week. Give me the Cavaliers on the road.

JoeJoe: Cookeville 34-24

The Cavaliers need this one for their playoff hopes. They put together four quarters last week. They need to continue the momentum from last week into this game. Cookeville 34-24.

Stone Memorial (7-1) at DeKalb County (3-5)

Noah: Stone Memorial 42-14

Jacob: Stone Memorial 35-14

Justin: Stone Memorial 28-7

Goose: Stone Memorial 27-17

JoeJoe: Stone Memorial 42 -14

Smith County (4-4) at Tellico Plains (4-4)

Noah: Smith County 28-21

Jacob: Tellico Plains 21-14

Justin: Smith County 28-6

Goose: Smith County 22-13

JoeJoe: Tellico Plains 21- 17

Jackson County (4-4) at Cumberland County (2-6)

Noah: Jackson County 28-7

Jacob: Jackson County 14-7

Justin: Jackson County 25-12

Goose: Jackson County 35-12

JoeJoe: Jackson County 35- 14

Clay County (7-1) at Innovation Academy (1-7)

Noah: Clay County 56-0

Jacob: Clay County 52-0

Justin: Clay County 68-0

Goose: Clay County 54-0

JoeJoe: Clay County 49- 0
